Healthy Cheeseburger Bowl (Easy Dinner That Takes 10 Minutes)

I made this for dinner tonight just to mix things up a little bit. I didn't think much of it until I sent a photo to my girlfriends and they all asked immediately for the recipe.


To be honest, there's not much of a recipe for it. It's simpler than that. It's basically a cheeseburger in salad form. I did add some roasted potatoes (I had prepped earlier this week) for the carb portion.


But this will definitely be a reocurring meal I'll make again. It's nothing fancy with zero recipe. It's just one of those meals you can grow together when you don't feel like thinking about it, but still want something taht actually tastes good and doesn't leave you feeling awful after.


What's in this healthy cheeseburger bowl


It's exactly what it sounds like.


Ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, pepperoncinis, a little cheese, pickled onions, and then I added roasted potatoes (to replace the french fries). For the sauce, I just grabbed a dressing on hand, but you can use just about anything.


You can recreate your own secret sauce by mixing mayo, ketchup, and a sweet relish. But seriously, this isn't where you overcomplicate it. Oil and vinegar, or ranch could easily work as well.


WHy this wor4ks so well

This is one of those quick, healthy dinners you can throw together without overthinking it.


You've got veggies, protein, carbs, and fat all in one place, so it actually fills you up and you're not going back to snack 30 minutes later.


It really doesn't feel like you're eating "healthy food". It just tastes like a cheeseburger.



This is how I think about meals like this


I don't sit there trying to come up with something new every night.


I just build something simple:


  • veggies

  • protein

  • carbs

  • fat


That's it. This just happened to look like a cheeseburger bowl tonight.
